JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for providing massage therapy work for players and/or staff who are part of UGAA. Responsible for working with players, physicians and athletic training staff in order to maximize recovery, help reduce time players are out with injury while helping the athletes avoid aggravating an existing injury.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide massage and body treatments for players and/or staff as needed.
2. Perform therapeutic massages of joints and soft tissues.
3. Perform deep tissue massage or sports massage.
4. Perform assessment of range of motion and muscle strength: propose and implement player therapy plans.
5. Massage and knead muscles and soft tissues to provide treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.
6. Work closely with UGAA medical team related to individual player treatment/recovery plan.
7. Communicate effectively with players, staff and medical team.
8. Ensure players experience is safeguarded, maintaining player confidentiality and upholding commitment to safety.
9. 10% travel required with team during specified road trips.
10. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelors Degree Required

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

One (1) year of experience in sports massage therapy with professional and/or collegiate Athletes or has worked with professional or collegiate sports teams.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

Licensed massage therapist who has successfully completed a certified message therapy program. Licensed in the state of Georgia

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with professional sports teams is preferred. Piedmont HealthCare
