Title: Maintenance Technician

B Shift: 530p-530a. 12 hour shifts, Weekends.

Location: Chicago, IL

Type: Contract (4-6 months)

Our team is partnering with an automotive supplier to source an experienced Maintenance Technician to support their manufacturing operations. This position is ideal for a skilled technician with proven expertise in electrical systems, hydraulics, and welding. A welding certification is preferred, along with previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, hydraulic equipment, and mechanical machinery.
• Execute welding and fabrication tasks as required; ensure all welds meet quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to diagnose issues and implement solutions.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and communicate equipment status to supervisors and production teams.
• Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive industry experience preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and welding techniques.
• Welding certification preferred (MIG, TIG, or Stick).
• No PLC experience needed.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Flexible to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
