Medasource is seeking a local contract Sterile Processing Technician Lead for a local contract job in Boston, Massachusetts.

Sterile Processing Supervisor 
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Thu & Fri 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM; Sat & Sun 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Sign-On Bonus: $7,500 for Full-Time New Hires

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our Sterile Processing Department (SPD). This role is ideal for a hands-on leader ready to support staff, enforce best practices, and maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and manage daily SPD and/or materials processing activities
• Monitor workflows and prioritize tasks to meet clinical and scheduling needs
• Lead the development and implementation of departmental goals, policies, and sterilization protocols
• Supervise staff across shifts, including performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines
• Manage inventory of instruments, equipment, and surgical materials
• Deliver ongoing staff training and in-services for continued education and development
• Partner with clinical teams and vendors to resolve issues and ensure timely material availability
• Stay current on best practices and innovations through professional education and committee participation

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in sterile processing or materials management in a healthcare setting required
• Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of infection control, decontamination, and sterilization methods
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

This position plays a vital leadership role during off-hours and weekends—ideal for someone who thrives on accountability, teamwork, and high standards of patient safety.

 

Candidates must have:

• A high school level of education is required. Associates preferred
• A minimum of three years ( ideally would like 5) of related experience as a Sterile Processing Technician is required
• Previous experience as a Leader/ Supervisor in Sterile Processing
• Current Sterile Processing certification is required (CPBSD)
• SPD Manager certification is preferred, but not required (CHL)
• The ability to interact and coordinate with employees, vendors, surgeons, and nursing staff
