Job Description

CBIZ has been retained by a top law firm to assist in their search for a bankruptcy litigation assistant for their downtown Los Angeles office. This is a great opportunity to get in with a fantastic law firm. This is a hybrid position requiring 3-4 days per week in office with 1-2 work from home days.

Duties:

Filing of Motions for Relief, Proofs of Claim and Notices related to creditor’s rights in Bankruptcy. Update and calendaring of matters via internal case management system and various software systems.
Drafting, revisions and finalization of correspondence, pleadings (including tables of authorities), court forms, memoranda, and redline comparisons.
Assist attorneys with arranging and preparing for depositions.
Assist with trial preparation and trial support.
State, civil, complex federal and appellate filings (manual and/or electronic, where applicable) and service of pleadings.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

5+ years' bankruptcy litigation assistant experience from a mid-sized to large law firm (PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE BANKRUPTCY EXPERIENCE).
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Proficiency with filing with California Superior Courts and United States District Courts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2016 or later.
Strong verbal and written communication skills along with research experience.
Must be a team player.
Ability to quickly learn new software programs.
Must be extremely detail oriented.

Salary:

$85,000-$100,000, DOE
