Position Title: Lift Operator I

Business Unit: Mountain Operations

Position Reports to: Lift Operations Manager

Wage Range: $20-21/hr

JOB SUMMARY

Safely and efficiently operate a ski lift, assist guests in safely loading and unloading the chairlift, conduct crowd control at lift lines, and enthusiastically and professionally provide guest experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Safely and efficiently operate a ski lift
  • Be attentive at the load and unload terminals
  • Assisting guests of all ages and abilities to load and unload chairlifts safely
  • Prepare and maintain a safe workspace throughout the day
  • Complete required documentation, legibly and accurately
  • Maintain the lift chairs by removing snow, ice, and precipitation for guests
  • Perform crowd control in lift mazes

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Ski/Snowboard experience preferred
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Previous lift operation experience desired

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position is required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours while in operation.
  • Be able to work flexible work schedules
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Working outside in extreme cold weather and changing conditions for long periods of time
  • Comfortable with riding all chairlifts and being at heights
