B/R Kicks is seeking a Programmer I, Kicks to be responsible for daily social programming and curation of B/R Kicks across all social media platforms and the B/R App. This individual is responsible for covering breaking news, identifying and curating evergreen UGC, community building and management across all platforms and creating short-form, personality-forward social videos. The Programmer I, Kicks will work cross-functionally, collaborating with B/R and House of Highlights programmers, content, design, production, and other key initiatives and alongside partners in the sneaker industry. Responsibilities include leading day-to-day programming across all B/R Kicks social platforms and the B/R App by identifying, sourcing, evaluating, and posting breaking news and viral hits in sneakers, sports, and relevant pop culture; daily news monitoring to discover and curate evergreen content and UGC that aligns with B/R Kicks brand pillars; thinking creatively about original content opportunities; discovering new and emerging external creators and implementing ways to collaborate on video executions; executing basic photo and video editing on relevant social platforms; collaborating with programming staff in new content idea generation and platform learnings; possibly appearing on-camera and using voice on video as needed; and identifying emerging formats and packaging tactics to help B/R Kicks grow. Qualifications include extensive knowledge of sneaker culture, streetwear, fashion, and sports; high proficiency with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Threads, the B/R App, and other emerging platforms; experience on-camera for short-form social video and live streams; strong hook writing and communication skills; familiarity with basic photo and video editing; deep understanding of TikTok-native and IG-native content, trends and creators; good understanding of NBA, NBA Twitter and basketball culture as it pertains to sneakers, fashion and culture; strong understanding of Bleacher Reports Kicks, Bleacher Report and House of Highlights’ voice and brands; extensive knowledge of internet culture; experience with social content discovery and interest in emerging social platforms; ability to work nights, weekends and holidays; and 1-2 years of professional social media experience.
