Job Description

Black Drum LLC is looking for a graphic designer to work full-time from our office in Charleston, SC. Our ideal candidate is passionate about design, highly creative, motivated, and has experience in design for digital and print applications. The graphic designer will create content for our and direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce brands, with a primary focus on email design, and will work closely with team members on a range of ambitious projects.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day design of email marketing content: design exciting and effective newsletter, promotional, and evergreen emails; implement design best practices; and a/b test content strategies to engage our DTC customers and improve email KPIs
• Create static and video content for paid social media ads
• Plan, design, and execute organic social media posts
• Complete ad hoc design projects, including but not limited to print media, packaging refreshes, etc.
• Assist in the creative direction of photoshoots, creating Pinterest boards and shot lists
• Maintain brand consistency and design standards
• Understand marketing learnings and feedback to optimize designs and turn around edits quickly

Qualifications

• A professional designer with 1-to-2 years of design experience
• A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work independently and within a team environment
• A resourceful, highly organized, and creative problem solver
• A strong conceptual thinker who can think across multiple platforms of communication
• Well-versed in graphic design, layout and typography
• Familiar with current design trends and best practices for both print and digital work
• Excellent attention to detail
• Meticulous about keeping your work files organized
• Able to handle multiple projects and know where to prioritize
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• Experienced with cross-functional and remote teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Klaviyo or other email marketing platform
• Previous experience in eCommerce or at a startup
