Job Description

Our client, a leading engineering and design firm in the oil and gas industry, is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Designer to join their team. As an Instrumentation & Controls Designer, you will be part of a dynamic team supporting various projects in the oil and gas and refinery sectors. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, adaptability, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully with the organization.

Job Title: Instrumentation & Controls Designer

Location: Long Beach, CA

Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000

What's the Job?

• Collaborate with project teams to design, develop, and implement instrumentation and control (I&C) systems for oil and gas and refinery projects, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
• Utilize AutoCAD to create and modify detailed design drawings and documentation.
• Participate in field verification and user requirements gathering walk-downs at client sites.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in instrumentation and control engineering.
• Support project teams in managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What's Needed?

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or technical certification in drafting, design, or a related field is a plus.
• 1-3 years of experience as a designer, field technician, or draftsperson in the oil and gas or refinery industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems is preferred; experience with other design software (e.g., MicroStation) is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
