Job Description The University of Alabama Birmingham, Heersink School of Medicine, Department of Surgery is currently recruiting faculty candidates at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to be considered for a tenure track or non-tenure track faculty appointment in the
Division of Pediatric Surgery . The successful candidate will be expected to meet clinical, research and teaching needs, as applicable, in the Department of Surgery. The Division of Pediatric Surgery offers comprehensive general and specialized surgical treatment of a wide range of neonatal, pediatric and adolescent conditions. Our faculty practice at Children's of Alabama, which is the only medical center in Alabama dedicated solely to the care and treatment of children. With more than 2 million square feet, it is the third largest pediatric medical facility in the United States. The Division of Pediatric Surgery offers two fellowships: a Pediatric Surgery Fellowship, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, and a Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery Fellowship, which is not accredited by the ACGME. In addition to our focus on patient care, we also provide an environment that supports the education of health professionals and encourages advanced research to further medical science.
