Job Description

HIM Specialist - Full time CRHC is looking for a full time (32 hours/week) HIM Specialist to join our health care team. This position works Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm. (Will work four eight hour days.)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

In order to "Advance Exceptional Care" this position will maintain the accuracy of patients' electronic health record by scanning patient documents in correctly and timely. Answer phones promptly and assist patients needing to obtain their medical records. Respond to requests for patient health information. Gather patient information and assemble into one chart per patient encounter. Obtain provider signatures as needed for completion, maintain tracking of paperwork until completion, and submit charts for scanning into the electronic medical record. Scan orders and test results in a timely manner to ensure coding is completed on time. Verify changes as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three (3) years of clerical experience
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
• Medical Terminology preferred
