This position is full time (40 hours / week), Tuesday - Saturday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

We offer 4 weeks of paid on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM from Monday - Friday.

If you are located within the state of Minnesota OR Wisconsin, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information
  • Processes release of information (ROI) requests
  • Manages requests for documentation and information
  • Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record
  • Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems
  • May train and mentor co - workers
  • Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements
  • Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability
  • Work with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of Customer Service experience within a hospital OR healthcare environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM CST from Tuesday - Saturday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • RHIT OR RHIA certification
  • Clerical OR administrative support background
  • Experience with working within the health care industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience with working in a hospital, physician's office, OR medical clinic setting
  • Experience with working in a call center
  • Experience with communicating with patients and staff with various educational and socio - economic backgrounds
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of federal and state programs that will benefit coverage for clients

 

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within the state of Minnesota OR Wisconsin
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
