Description The General Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all sales activities within the dealership. This role requires a strong understanding of the automotive industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving sales performance. Responsibilities: Sales Management: Develop and implement effective sales strategies and tactics to achieve dealership sales goals. Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team. Monitor sales performance and provide coaching and feedback to sales staff. Ensure compliance with all dealership sales policies and procedures. Customer Satisfaction: Foster a customer-centric, hospitality-based culture within the dealership. Oversee the customer experience from initial contact to post-sale follow-up. Address customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally. Financial Performance: Analyze dealership financial performance and identify areas for improvement. Develop and manage sales budgets and forecasts. Monitor inventory levels and manage pricing strategies. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the sales team. Foster a positive and supportive work environment. Develop and maintain strong relationships with other departments within the dealership. Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices. Represent the dealership at industry events and conferences as needed. Qualifications: Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity. 5+ years experience as an automotive General Sales Manager or Sales Manager with a track record of achieving sales targets. Strong leadership and management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of the automotive industry and sales processes. Strong negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and dealership management systems. Valid driver's license. Physical Requirements: Sitting: The majority of the workday is spent sitting at a desk, using a computer and phone. Standing and Walking: There may be times when the General Sales Manager needs to stand, walk around the dealership, or attend meetings. Reaching and Bending: The manager may need to reach for files, supplies, or equipment. Lifting: Occasionally, there might be a need to lift or move documents, supplies, or equipment.
