Position Summary: The primary responsibilities of the Front Desk Staff are to welcome and check in members and guests, answer incoming calls and transfer callers to the correct person or office, accurately record and enter sales in the Point of Sale (POS) machine, collect revenue for products purchased from the Pro Shop utilizing a calculator when necessary, assist in tours of the facility, and be familiar with Health Works Wellness & Fitness Center programs and policies in order to answer questions from member, guests, or sign up prospective members. Assists with tours of the facility and sign‐up new members, as necessary. Responsibilities include those duties assigned the front desk, as well as other duties as assigned by management.
Education, License & Cert:
High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Experience:
1. Excellent communication and telephone etiquette required.
2. Prior experience in a customer service position is preferred.
3. CPR & First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire.
Essential Functions:
1. Members, guests, and non‐members are greeted in a pleasant and friendly manner ensuring that: they are checked in quickly, efficiently, and according to policy, visit limits are not violated, or they are directed to the appropriate area.
2. Schedule members for HRA’s, IC’s, Fitness University and Classes. Follow proper procedures for the rental of lockers and/or towels.
3. Proficient and professional in phone use: answering, holding, and transferring calls to the appropriate club or hospital number.
4. Follows opening procedures according to the Policy and Procedures Binder ensuring that the cash drawer for the POS machine contains the correct opening amount and must complete the appropriate Financial Services Form when differences are noted. Follows closing instructions in the Policy and Procedures Binder and completes cash reconciliation accurately.
5. Answer questions related to HealthWorks Programs and Policies and/or direct the member to the appropriate person or location to get answer.
6. Complete Attendance Report, Monthly Billings Request, Replacement Card, and Credit Card Information Forms accurately and place in the appropriate Membership Services or Financial Services mailbox.
7. Ensure that prospective members: sign the Tour/Prospective Member Log, that the Membership Services Director on duty is informed, and that the prospective member is directed to the appropriate area in friendly and courteous manner.
8. Enter payment transactions accurately and completely in the Front Desk POS.
9. When deliveries, vendors, contractors come to the Center, ensure that the proper Director is contacted, instructions are received regarding the delivery, and/or directing the vendor/contractor to the correct department.
10. May be assigned to other duties as needed
