Job Title: Event & Meeting Specialist

Client: Akamai-6986

Duration: 6 months with potential for conversion

Location: Cambridge, MA (hybrid – 3 days/week onsite on average)

Pay Rate: $30 - 34.00/hr. w2 or max

The Event & Meeting Specialist will support the day-to-day operations of the Akamai Executive Briefing Center while also supporting the execution of events assigned by the Global Events Team. The ideal candidate is passionate about event planning, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to develop their skills in corporate events and meetings. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with internal teams, executives and external guests. The Event & Meeting Specialist will assist in planning and facilitating corporate briefings for customers, partners, and executives ensuring a seamless and professional experience.

  • Executive Briefing Center (EBC) Coordination Manage scheduling, logistics, and on-site support for meetings held in the EBC.
  • Coordinate catering, audiovisual needs, and room setup to ensure seamless execution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams and executives using the EBC.
  • Maintain an organized calendar of bookings and assist with attendee communications.
  • Ensure the Briefing center experience has been properly coordinated, planned and executed with sales/channels or management personnel Coordinate all pre-visit briefing logistics and planning requirements Recommend and secure corporate resources to support Briefings With input from the Sales team, identify and articulate briefing objectives Develop customized briefing agendas, scheduling and hosting pre-briefing meetings Facilitate demonstrations and facility tours for visiting high level executives and other clients Manage the inventory of customer briefing gifts and collatera l Event Planning & Execution Assist in p lanning and executing corporate events (customer & internal) Support logistics including venue selection,

Qualifications

  • Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in event planning, corporate meetings, executive assistant, or hospitality.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Knowledge of AV equipment and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, WebEx, Teams) is a plus.
