Description
Leidos Maritime System Solutions (MSS) is seeking an Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer to join a growing, fast-paced engineering research, development, testing and evaluation team at Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific.
The selected candidate will be part of a world-class team responsible for development, manufacture and test of electro-mechanical devices for use with UUVs and other undersea systems and maritime mission applications. This individual will work closely with the government-industry engineering team and program leadership through all project phases. Work may involve prototypes, small quantity proof of concept, and low-rate initial production systems.
This mid-grade position requires the candidate to hold a Secret Clearance.
Primary Responsibilities
This individual will work with a small multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians to develop, test, and deliver uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs) to meet defined and derived system performance requirements. Development activities will include design, implementation and integration of components and subsystems into UUV platforms.
In addition to laboratory-based testing, test protocols include operations at sea, and performing post-test analysis and reporting of performance results. Reporting includes focused technical documentation as well as contract deliverables and briefing material.
Most development and testing will be conducted in San Diego; however, engineers may be asked to travel in support of testing and/or operations in other locations both in the U.S. and abroad and may require multiple day’s at-sea.
