Basic Function Under the direction of an assigned administrator perform a variety of duties involved in the set-up, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of a variety of technology equipment, including instructional technology devices, at an assigned school site(s); provide technical support and assistance to staff and students concerning the operation of instructional computer devices and related peripheral equipment.
Essential Functions Assist students and teachers with troubleshooting and operating Internet of Things (IoT) devices such as computer devices, peripheral equipment, and ed-tech tools/equipment/software to ensure instructional technology operates efficiently; assist with classroom ed-tech equipment set-up and basic use, troubleshoot and assist students with log in to applicable software programs and provide basic user support, including support with online ed-tech tools/software and those related to Makerspace equipment and use; help troubleshoot basic use issues with students devices and software used both onsite as well as remote.
Provide support and assistance in assembling, disassembling, and maintaining computer device carts in accordance with established protocols; maintain technology equipment inventory by utilizing district inventory software and retire old equipment according to established procedures; check-in and check-out technology devices to both students and staff in accordance with appropriate use policies.
Prepare and assist with equipment use for students and staff; assist with installation of applicable software and provide basic user support; assist and troubleshoot issues with instructional technology devices; maintain laptop and device carts.
Operate, basic troubleshoot, perform general maintenance, and maintain a variety of instructional computer/IOT devices and peripheral equipment; provide basic technological end-user support and respond to requests in person and on the telephone to staff and students; be able to identify when required technological support is at an advanced level and escalate the matter to HelpSTAR for further assistance.
Provide assistance to teachers,site administrators, and students in various computerized testing activities as assigned; troubleshoot and assist with resolving technical issues during testing activities.
Maintain routine records related to assigned activities; operate a variety of standard office equipment.

Education & Experience Requirements Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to: High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in computer operations including some experience working with students in an organized setting.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid First Aid and CPR certificates issued by an authorized agency

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and peripheral equipment.

Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling moderately heavy objects as assigned by position.
Selection Process The examination process for this recruitment may be comprised of one or any combination of the following: screening of the applicant's training, background, and experience; scored evaluation of responses on a supplemental application; written examination(s); qualifications appraisal oral examination; performance examination; or technical oral examination, scored on a job-related basis. Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process. Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations.

Other Important information: The duration of the eligibility list is one (1) year unless extended by the Personnel Commission. The eligibility list from this recruitment will be used for full-time, part-time and limited term positions.
New employees to the district are place on step A of the salary schedule. The maximum salary is reached after 3 ½ years of employment.
Recruitments that list Promotional and Open Competitive opportunities may result in one of the following: 1) a dual-certified list in which internal employees of the San Lorenzo Unified School District are awarded seniority points to their final passing score before placement on the eligibility list, or 2) two separate eligibility lists consisting of candidates on a promotional only list and an open list. In the latter case, candidates on the promotional list are referred to the hiring authority before candidates on the open. However, where less than three ranks exist on the promotional list, the open list will be utilized to complete a total of three ranks.
