Job Description
Location: Gorham, Maine Job Summary: The E-Waste Recycling Associate role is responsible for the efficient sorting, processing, and distribution of incoming donated technology, electronic equipment, and electronic waste materials to appropriate channels, ensuring maximum recovery value while maintaining environmental compliance standards. The role requires strict adherence to environmental and safety regulations and contributes to Goodwill's commitment to sustainability by maximizing the re-use of electronic goods.
- Inspect incoming donated technology and electronic equipment to determine condition and appropriate processing route
- Sort, categorize, and pack donated technology and electronic equipment based on resale potential and recycling requirements
- Safely operate forklift to move pallets within the warehouse
- Package and prepare items for distribution to resale department or recycling partners
- Maintain accurate records of processed materials and equipment
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to management
- Promote and uphold Goodwill's mission and values in all interactions with staff, customers, and stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures, fostering a culture of safety within the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Valid forklift certification
- Basic computer skills for inventory management
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation
- Basic interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand, sit, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to pass criminal background check.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Windows.
