✔️ Experience with dogs – While professional training experience is preferred, we’re open to candidates with strong handling skills and a willingness to learn.
✔️ Strong communication skills – Trainers must be able to confidently guide clients through training and provide clear instructions.
✔️ Ability to work independently – Once trained, trainers are expected to handle clients, scheduling, and training sessions on their own.
✔️ Commitment to our methods – We follow a proven system, and trainers must be open to learning and using Off Leash K9 Training techniques.
✔️ Boarding Capability – Trainers must be able to board 1-2 dogs in their home or a climate-controlled environment for Board & Train programs.
✔️ Reliable Transportation – Trainers must have a vehicle that can safely fit a crate for transporting dogs to training locations.
Training Process for New Trainers:
1️⃣ 135-Hour Training Certification – All new trainers must complete a comprehensive 135-hour certification process to ensure they meet Off Leash K9 Training’s standards for handling, training, and client coaching. We will be there to help you every step of the way.
2️⃣ Hands-On Shadowing – Trainers will shadow experienced trainers to learn our training approach, client communication, and session structure.
3️⃣ Practice Sessions – Trainers will work with a variety of dogs under supervision, ensuring they understand proper techniques before working with clients.
4️⃣ Testing & Certification – Before taking on clients independently, trainers must **demonstrate proficiency** in obedience training, leash handling, and explaining the process to owners.
5️⃣ Onboarding Clients – Once certified, trainers will begin working with clients directly, following our structured programs while still having access to mentorship if needed.
Trainers are expected to maintain professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to helping clients succeed with their dogs. If this sounds like a great fit, let’s set up a time to discuss the next steps!
