REPORTS TO: CFO

PRIVATE FIRM SIZE OF STAFF TO MANAGE: 25 in IT and growing. WHO IS DOING THE WORK NOW: Current Director of IT SIZE OF COMPANY: INDUSTRY: Legal/IT TECH DETAILS: 7 Petabytes of Data, 2000 servers (both Virtual and Physical), Windows environment. SUMMARY: Looking for a Director of IT to be responsible for overseeing the organization’s internal IT operations, ensuring they align with corporate objectives. The Director of IT manages the company’s technology infrastructure (networks, data centers, etc.) and the IT services that support business operations and service delivery. This includes responsibility for ensuring the integrity, availability, security of data and IT systems, cybersecurity, compliance with regulations, and data privacy standards. Reporting directly to the CTO, the Director of IT plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing internal IT infrastructure and operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides expert guidance, direction and leadership in regard to a company’s selection and use of technologies. Leads an organization’s IT function. Determines long-term needs and pursues purchases and contracts that will aid in accomplishing business objectives. Responsible for budgeting, strategic planning and forecasting. Reports to the Chief Technology Officer. Manages others. May require an advanced degree in a related area with at least 10 years of IT experience.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE):

10+ years’ experience and/or bachelor’s degree in IT or related fields. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Excellent project management skills. Demonstrated strategic mindset with an emphasis in IT.

SOFT SKILLS:

Professional, pleasant and patient in demeanor. Ability to work with hardware and software vendors. High degree of professionalism and ability to work with nominal supervision. Must have demonstrated maturity in judgment and ability to provide guidance and leadership to others. Must be flexible, prioritize workload, and have strong attention to detail.
