Job Description

Job Title: Business Analyst - Data Governance Project

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst to join our team for a critical Data Governance project. This role will primarily focus on two key workstreams: Data Exchange Inventory and Policies and Standards. The Business Analyst will support solution design, documentation, and implementation processes to ensure effective data management practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Workstream 1: Data Exchange Inventory

  • Support Solution Design:
Assist in the design and documentation of solutions, testing criteria, and success criteria for the pilot phase of data exchanges. Facilitate the capture of relevant metadata and the execution of workflows for three specified use cases, iterating processes until success criteria are achieved.
  • Data Intake Process Support:
Collaborate on the design and documentation of workflows within Collibra, focusing on the inventory intake process, review process, and approval process. Support the configuration of intake workflows and the updating of request forms to streamline processes.
  • Document Workflows:
Document supporting workflows and information for the intake process, including the intake assessment rubric to ensure comprehensive tracking and review of incoming data requests.
  • Data Exchange Implementation Support:
Assist in the alignment of data exchange update processes for inventory management, backfilling data exchange inventories with newly documented use cases. Monitor and measure exchange volume and related metadata currently being tracked while assisting CLIENT teams in the collection and documentation of critical metadata components.

Workstream 2: Policies and Standards

  • Support Policy Implementation:
Assist in implementing updates to the Data Handling Policy based on Phase 1 recommendations, particularly those related to data disposition and archival language.
  • Standard Creation and Updates:
Participate in the creation and updating of existing standards related to data creation, storage, usage, sharing, retention (dependent on Workstream 3 decisions), and disposition (also dependent on Workstream 3 decisions).
  • Socialization and Rollout Plans:
Support the development of socialization, ratification, and rollout plans to ensure comprehensive understanding and adoption of updated policies and standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
Generate documentation, artifacts, reports, and other materials to capture workstream deliverables. Facilitate workstream-focused design and build sessions under the direction of CLIENT delivery leadership, ensuring that all requirements are gathered effectively from business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in data governance or related projects.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools and techniques, including experience with tools such as Collibra.

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

This Business Analyst role is vital to the successful implementation of our Data Governance project, ensuring that our data practices align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. If you are passionate about data governance and have a drive to facilitate organizational change, we encourage you to apply and contribute to our team.
