Role Overview:
As a Junior Manager, you'll play a crucial role in our team by reviewing and preparing complex tax returns for individuals and small businesses. We're looking for someone who is organized, analytical, and proactive in addressing challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Return Preparation and Review: Review and prepare complex tax returns, including 1065, 1120-S, 1120, 1040, and 1041, with a focus on real estate entities.
- Client Book Management: Oversee and adjust clients' books, including closing and periodic adjustments.
- Ancillary Returns: Review additional returns such as 1099s, payroll, sales tax, and annual filing fees (experience in this area is a plus).
- Engagement Management: Handle engagements with minimal supervision.
- Tax Planning: Focus on tax savings opportunities and projections for clients.
- Research and Problem-Solving: Investigate complex tax issues and develop effective solutions.
- Client Coordination: Communicate with clients and collaborate with their other advisors.
- Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics to enhance problem-solving and decision-making.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation is a plus.
- Certification: CPA preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years of public accounting experience with a focus on taxation.
- Skills: Strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; capable of managing multiple workstreams.
- Technology Proficiency: Advanced skills in Word, Excel, QuickBooks (online and desktop), Adobe Pro, CFS payroll, and BNA. Experience with CCH Axcess or ProFx and BNA is preferred.
