Job Description
The Copywriter and Editor for Creative Team is an important role that merges both creative strengths and grammatical savvy with prophetic insight and wisdom. This person is responsible for creating copy and content that is in line with the heart, voice, and tone of Bethel Church and its ministries, and upholding the grammatical standards set in place by our guides (Tone in conjunction with AP Style) across digital, print, social, and email elements on Bethel platforms. They are responsible for creating copy and messaging that is in line with the core values of Bethel Church in its various places of communication. They also help to support other teams and initiatives with content reviews, trainings, and other communicators in Bethel’s voice, grammar, and values.
Copywriting
- Source and write content for:
- Social media
- Design assets
- Communication pieces
- Global emails
- Campaigns
- Website content
- Blogs
- Core messaging
- Video scripts
- YouTube Descriptions
- Generate creative ideas for approaches to content
- Create innovative campaigns and content
- Write stylistic and grammatically correct copy
- Understand the organization’s message and goal
- Receive feedback from leaders and teams we serve to improve content
- Deliver quality content and meeting or exceeding goals
Editor
- Support the values of Bethel’s overall voice/tone/message in line with the core heart and brand of Bethel
- Assist in brand consistency and quality control organization-wide
- Maintain and protect “Bethel voice” through various outlets of communication
- Support other ministries and communicators in their expressions of communication
- Review design assets for grammar in line with AP style, Bethel style, and value consistency
- Give feedback on pieces that deviate from styles and values, offer solutions
- Review scripts from video team for cohesion of content and implementation of style and values
- Give feedback on pieces that deviate from styles and values, offer solutions
- Review social media captions for consistency in tone and values
- Review global emails and proofread in line with tone, value, and cohesion of content
- Fact-check content created by others to ensure accuracy
Salary Range: $45,000 to $49,920 per year

Requirements
- A passion for the Lord, a love of words, and a keen mind for doing things with excellence and wisdom.
- Grammatical proficiency in several writing styles, including AP style and MLA style
- Well-acquainted with Storybrand model of marketing and messaging
- An ability to describe product features in a creative and informative way
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English
- Work experience as a Copywriter, Content Writer, Editor, or similar role preferred
- Basic knowledge of SEO and keyword research tools preferred
- Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems or Email Service Platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Hubspot, ActiveCampaign, etc.) preferred
- Strong time-management skills
- Strong, self-starting work ethic
- A deep affection for the Church, locally and globally
- A desire to grow and learn

- Creativity: Your ability to translate ideas into copy over a variety of topics and learn from other creative professionals is vital
- Research Skills: Being able to investigate a wide range of topics and content is part of the work you do before creating copy that is accurate, honest, and valuable
- Personal Project Management: Establishing good time management practices to prioritize activities to meet deadlines
- Typing and Computer Skills: Your ability to type accurately and quickly, save files and use the internet to research content
