Job Summary:

The Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist ensures that all affordable housing units comply with federal, state, and local housing regulations, including programs such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), HUD, HOME, Section 8, and others. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance records, performing audits, assisting in resident certification processes, and serving as a liaison with regulatory agencies.

What You'll Do:

• Process move-in certifications, annual recertifications, and income/asset verifications for LIHTC and other affordable housing programs
• Maintain accurate compliance files and electronic records in accordance with program regulations
• Ensure ongoing compliance with LIHTC, Section 8, 4d, and other applicable programs
• Perform internal audits and help prepare properties for investor and agency reviews
• Stay current with compliance regulations and translate changes into practical guidance for teams
• Collaborate closely with property managers and leasing teams to ensure timely and complete documentation
• Submit required reports and annual certifications to agencies and syndicators
• Assist in training site teams and new hires on compliance protocols and best practices
• Partner with legal and operations teams to proactively resolve compliance issues

What You Bring:

• 2+ years of affordable housing compliance experience (LIHTC required; Section 8 and 4d preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Yardi and Yardi CRM platforms preferred
• TCS (Tax Credit Specialist) or COS (Certified Occupancy Specialist) certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification in 6-9 months
• High attention to detail and a knack for organizing complex information
• Self-starter mentality—you know how to solve problems and meet deadlines independently
• Clear communicator who can explain technical compliance requirements in everyday language
• Passion for mission-driven housing and being part of a collaborative team

Compensation details: 55000-65000 Yearly Salary
