Clinical Intake Specialist

The Clinical Intake Specialist is responsible for processing telephonic and fax notifications, referrals, and authorization requests from members, facilities, and physician offices. This role ensures that referrals and authorizations are accurately recorded in the member record to support clinical review processes and facilitate timely claims payments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process incoming referrals, notifications, and authorization requests via phone and fax
• Maintain compliance with department policies, company regulations, and HIPAA requirements when handling protected health information
• Follow established workflows, plan requirements, and clinical guidelines to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Utilize active listening skills to provide patient-centered support while demonstrating patience and empathy
• Ensure data accuracy in authorization records to support seamless claims processing

Required Experience:

• 1+ years of customer service experience in a professional work setting

Required Skills:

• Strong data entry and documentation skills
• Ability to follow clinical guidelines and workflows accurately
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
