About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Policy Officer to play a pivotal role in the organization's mission to prevent child abuse and its long-term effects on children, families, and communities. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Leadership Team, responsible for implementing the strategic plan and theory of change, overseeing strategic partnerships and policy teams, and leading policy and advocacy efforts at the national, state, and local levels. This includes creating and advancing partnerships to support collective impact in preventing child abuse, neglect, and trauma, as well as driving the transformation of the child protection system into a more holistic, family-centered approach. The role also involves maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, including community-based organizations, elected officials, and parent leaders, and ensuring the organization's work is in line with its commitment to racial and economic justice.
Applicants for the Chief Policy Officer position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in public policy, public administration, social welfare policy, or related fields, with a proven track record of advancing policy reform and advocacy. The role requires a leader with strong management skills, the ability to work with diverse communities, and a deep commitment to the values of the organization. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational, strategic, and action-oriented leader, capable of problem-solving and remaining resilient in the face of challenges. Experience in budgeting, fundraising, and a strong background in project management are essential. The Chief Policy Officer will also be responsible for supervising and collaborating with staff, so the ability to build and lead a team is a key competency for this role. Hiring Manager Title
