Join to apply for the Chief Engineer role at UG2 . We are seeking a Chief Engineer in the Menlo Park area. The position is Monday - Friday / Day Shift. Role Overview The Chief Engineer is responsible for maintaining the highest level of professionalism, meeting client needs, and ensuring 100% uptime across the engineering team. This includes operational management, leadership, safety, and efficiency of machinery and systems, alongside implementing and managing reliability-based maintenance to protect and enhance the value of the client's assets. Key Responsibilities Monitor and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical equipment, ensuring proper operation and reporting malfunctions. Manage inventory of tools and supplies, including procurement and inventory checks. Oversee contractors and ensure safety hazards are addressed, maintaining a safe environment. Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain all infrastructure documentation. Supervise and develop building engineering staff, including hiring and training. Implement QA/QC processes and facilitate infrastructure assessments. Promote preventive maintenance and support operational standards and safety training. Respond to emergencies, troubleshoot issues, and perform general housekeeping. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Relevant certifications such as Universal CFC and Refrigeration Technician's license. 10+ years of experience, with 5+ years in supervisory roles. HVAC experience/certification preferred, along with electrical and plumbing experience. Physical & Working Conditions Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces. Moderate to loud noise levels, with exposure to mechanical parts and electrical risks. Availability for after-hours emergency response.
