Location: Missouri

Reports to: President/CEO and COO

As the premier team behind many of mid-Missouri's most recognizable commercial buildings, PCE Construction (PCE) owes its success to the talent and teamwork of our employees. Due to continued growth, we’re seeking a career-minded, experienced Business Development–Relationship Manager to help us achieve our growth goals.

If you are an outgoing self-starter with a dynamic personality, highly organized, a critical thinker, and able to multi-task and thrive in a fun, family-oriented, professional, and fast-paced office environment—we would love for you to join our team.

As the Business Development–Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding the company's market presence throughout Missouri. Leveraging your 7+ years of demonstrated experience, you will focus on identifying new opportunities and nurturing long-term relationships with key clients, architects, engineers, developers, and other industry partners. Your ability to understand industry needs will be crucial in identifying opportunities, developing strategic solutions, and guiding ideas through the development process in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with both new and existing clients, including developers, owners, and key decision-makers.
  • Proposals: Collaborate with the estimating team to produce timely and accurate estimates and proposals, leveraging your industry knowledge to deliver optimal value to clients.
  • Conduct Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between external clients and internal departments, including estimating and project management, to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Attend Events: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance PCE’s reputation and expand its network.
  • Manage Sales Cycle: Own the full sales cycle—from initial lead generation and qualification to proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Post-Sales Support: Provide ongoing support after project completion to maintain trust and foster long-term relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Construction Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in business development or relationship management; experience in the commercial construction field is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, terminology, plans, and specifications is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Ability to travel throughout Missouri and occasionally out of state for client meetings and events.
