Cayzen Technologies is looking to hire a BA consultant for a contract position for a direct client of ours. This position will be focused on streamlining IT service delivery processes. They will create efficiencies of existing processes and develop processes where none exist. The goal is to improve internal ITSO processes and create clear, well-documented end-user processes. On occasion, the position will provide business analysis services for IT projects.
OBJECTIVES To obtain a resource (40 hours per week) with skills and ability to provide business analysis primarily for IT service delivery process improvement work efforts and occasionally for agency-wide IT projects. This work includes applying in-depth business expertise and analytical processes to identify IT service delivery processes that need efficiencies. The position needs to understand business drivers and collaborate with business and IT team members to improve processes and increase the efficiency of IT service delivery.
TASKS - Identifies opportunities for improving IT service delivery processes and creating processes where none exist. Assists in the preparation of proposals to facilitate operational change or develop new systems. Works with the process service owner to ensure that the changes are effectively communicated and artifacts are stored in a central repository.
- Independently facilitates requirements gathering meetings and workshops across multiple IT teams, environmental or administrative programs.
- Independently analyzes and develops functional and non-functional requirements for IT process improvement work efforts or IT Projects
- Develops business cases to describe the problem, its root causes and impacts, identifies gaps and shortcomings, and recommends solutions.
- Identifies the needs of stakeholder groups by applying Business Process Modeling (BPM) techniques to develop and document as-is and to-be processes.
- Uses Business Process Reengineering methods and Organizational Change Management (OCM) strategies and contributes to Change management plan development and execution.
- Documents and organizes requirements so that they are testable and traceable
- Consults with staff and external partners to analyze technology needs and problems; analyzes and resolves highly complex problems.
- Defines key performance indicators (KPI)
- Leads the development of the business case, cost/benefit analysis and feasibility.
- Evaluates new and changing business or stakeholder requirements to assess their impact to the proposed solutions scope, cost, or schedule.
- Directs quality assurance efforts; develops software test plans and conducts User Acceptance Test (UAT) sessions.
- Develops requirements traceability matrices.
- Manages the execution of the test.
- Provides input to "go/no go" business and technical decisions.
- Tracks, reports and monitors defect identification and resolution.
DELIVERABLES The following artifacts will be created, posted in central repository and communicated out to affected stakeholders:
Business analysis plan (approach).
Documented "as is" and "to be" IT processes.
Step by step end user documentation for staff who consume IT services.
Requirements and business case documentation.
Functional and non-functional specification documentation.
Contributions to communication and change management plans.
