This is an opportunity to work with the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) in meeting the mission of administering the nation’s lawful immigration system. Hiring hourly rate of pay: $ (hourly rate set by SCA) Eligible to earn an additional Health & Welfare (H&W) payment of $ per hour to assist in covering benefits. Any excess H&W will be paid out as cash. Job Description: As a Biometric Technician (BT), you will support the mission of a government program located in Reno, NV. This position works as part of a dynamic team assisting the USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) operations. Amentum provides all necessary job training for qualified candidates. This is an on-call (casual) team member position. On-Call employees are expected to be available Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm, for substitute coverage as needed. This is not a regular full-time or part-time role; it is a casual on-call position. Employees may be notified in advance or at short notice of on-call needs. Hours are not guaranteed, and this position is suitable for candidates seeking supplemental income and flexibility. Primary Responsibilities: Complete biometric registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the US. Ensure all entrants are approved applicants or visitors, providing crowd control and enforcing ASC policies. Provide front-line customer service, representing Amentum and the US government. Highlights of Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality customer service, maintaining a cheerful, respectful demeanor and safeguarding PII such as applicant paperwork, IDs, biometric data, and reports. Perform biometric processing, including capturing fingerprints, photographs, and signatures within established times. Screen applicants for valid appointment notices and IDs. Use crowd control barriers to ensure organized entry. Inspect applicants and belongings before entry, asking health questions during health crises. Conduct facility checks and report concerns. Assist law enforcement or emergency responders if needed. Manage administrative tasks such as processing times, biometric reconciliation, visitor logs, and facility checks. Required Qualifications: Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials, with US citizenship required. High School Diploma or equivalent. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Ability to stand for the shift duration, excluding breaks. Ability to handle and grasp fingerprints properly. Work effectively in a high-paced environment with the public. Basic computer skills and typing ability. Complete biometrics training and certification within 60 days. Desired Skills: Ability to speak a foreign language. This position is regulated by the Department of Labor (DOL) as a Service Contract Act (SCA) contract, which sets minimum wages, benefits, and other employment conditions. On-Call employees are not eligible for benefits like medical or dental insurance; any unused H&W funds are paid as cash.
