Overview Biometric (Fingerprinting) Technician - On Call is an on‑call (casual) position supporting USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) operations in Reno, NV. This role is part of a dynamic team of professionals and involves biometric processing, customer service, and facility access control. Amentum provides all required job training for qualified candidates. This is not a regular full‑time or part‑time position; it is on‑call as needed with no guaranteed hours. Primary Responsibilities Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States. Ensure all entrants to the ASC are approved applicants and visitors; assist staff with enforcing ASC rules and policies and provide interior and exterior crowd control. Provide front‑line customer service as representatives of Amentum and the U.S. Government. Additional Responsibilities and Highlights Provide high level of customer service; interact with the public warmly and respectfully while safeguarding Personal Identifiable Information (PII). Perform quality biometrics processing, including capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures within established processing times. Screen applicants for valid appointment notices and identification; manage entry control using crowd control barriers as needed. Visually inspect belongings prior to facility entry and, during health crises, follow applicable requirements. Conduct periodic facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor; assist in coordinating with local law enforcement or first responders when necessary. Maintain and complete administrative paperwork such as tracking processing times, reconciling biometrics, maintaining a visitor control log, and other duties as needed. Required Qualifications Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization (U.S. citizenship required for facility credentials at this location). High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to speak and write in English. Ability to stand for scheduled shift duration and to hold and grasp applicants’ hands to obtain quality fingerprints. Ability to work in a high‑paced environment with the public and use basic computer skills. Successful completion of biometrics training and certification within sixty days. Desired Skills Ability to speak a foreign language. H&W monies are provided for eligible hours to offset benefit costs; any remaining monies may be cashed out per policy. Benefits Hiring hourly rate of pay: $19.81 (hourly rate set by SCA). Benefits include Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and 401k retirement plan. Employees accrue one hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked up to 56 hours per year and may be eligible for vacation and paid time off, subject to eligibility requirements.
