Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bakery Clerk to join our team. As a Bakery Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting with food and beverage preparation, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized space.

Duties:

- Assist with food preparation, including preparing simple recipes and ingredients, preparing beverages and building sandwiches

- Package and label bakery products for display and sale

- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, taking orders, and assisting customers with their needs

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, including cleaning equipment and work areas

- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently

- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the quality and freshness of bakery products

- Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies

Experience:

- Previous experience in the food industry or a similar role is preferred

- Experience preparing sandwiches/bagels a huge plus

- Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members

- Basic math skills for cash handling purposes

- Time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively

- Driving experience and clean driving record is a plus (company van provided)
