Job Description:

We seek an individual to join the 20+ person Operations Team as an AVP in Core Operations. Core Operations is responsible for all Investment Accounting and Custody processes for the firm. This position will report to an Operations Manager. The Core Operations team liaises daily with the Investment Team, Client Service, and key external entities, including custodian banks, brokers, and service-providers.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Operate as a subject matter expert across Core Operations functions; Accounting, Custody, Recon, Cash Flows, & Corp Actions.
  2. Become a Simcorp Dimension power user, submit technical issues and inquiries to SCDaas and partner with them to research and resolve open items.
  3. Understand the connections and dependencies of Operations systems and processes with those of the firm overall.
  4. Provide support to Core Ops supervisors – cover operational tasks as needed, provide backup supervisory support, train staff on workflow, troubleshoot issues, etc.
  5. Act as a point person in responding to various Ops requests in a timely and accurate manner.
  6. Play lead role in documenting and executing test cases for annual Simcorp upgrade.
  7. Identify process improvement opportunities within the team and partner with Ops managers to implement solutions.
  8. Work closely with other departments to triage issues and respond to client requests and inquiries.
  9. Participate in the monthly efforts to scrub/validate all accounting data before it is disseminated to clients.
  10. Assist with annual SOC 1 and commingled Fund audits.
  11. Timely escalation of material breaks and aged items to the Team Leader.
  12. Strong communication and awareness of when breaks impact other functions - trade settlement, portfolio accounting, performance, trading, client reporting.
  13. Ensure all desktop policies and procedures are updated, communicated, and followed.
  14. Work closely with Team Manager and Director of Operations on team planning and resource needs.

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. 7-10 years of fixed income or related industry experience.
  2. Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced operations group & manage multiple priorities.
  3. Knowledge of fixed income securities.
  4. Knowledge of Insurance Accounting and associated regulatory reporting.
  5. Broad Middle & Back office knowledge, including accounting, custody, recon, and corporate actions.
  6. Experience managing projects and process improvement initiatives.
  7. Knowledge of Simcorp Dimension.
  8. Experience with Bloomberg, SharePoint, Excel.
  9. Prior experience with an Investment Manager a plus.
  10. Bachelor's degree required, work towards MBA and/or CFA a plus.

In addition to the opportunity to participate in a discretionary bonus program, the salary range below describes the estimated minimum to maximum base salary range for a position of this level. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate and may vary based upon but not limited to relevant experience, licensure requirements, certifications, skill set, and other business and organizational needs.

Base Salary Range:

$100,000 - $130,000

Annual Performance Bonus:

This role is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.
