An Auto Body Combination Technician is a skilled professional responsible for performing a range of tasks involving vehicle body repair and refinishing. This role combines expertise in both structural repairs and cosmetic refinishing to restore vehicles to their original condition after accidents or wear.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collision Repair :
   • Assess vehicle damage to determine repair methods and timelines.
   • Replace damaged vehicle components, such as bumpers, fenders, doors, and panels.
   • Perform structural repairs using welding and metalworking techniques.
2. Refinishing :
   • Sand, mask, and prime vehicle surfaces in preparation for painting.
   • Mix and apply paint to match the original color and finish.
   • Buff and polish painted surfaces to achieve a flawless finish.
3. Inspection and Estimation :
   • Conduct detailed inspections to identify all areas needing repair.
   • Provide accurate repair estimates to supervisors or customers.
4. Tool and Equipment Operation :
   • Operate tools such as dent pullers, welders, spray guns, and sanders safely and efficiently.
   • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
5. Customer Interaction :
   • Explain repair processes and timelines to customers when necessary.
   • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering quality work.
6. Compliance and Safety :
   • Adhere to all safety guidelines and environmental regulations related to auto body repair and painting.
   • Dispose of hazardous materials, such as paint and solvents, according to regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in auto body repair preferred.
• Proficiency in collision repair, metalworking, and automotive refinishing.
• Experience with specialized tools and equipment used in auto body work.
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, technical bulletins, and work orders.

• Technical Expertise : Skilled in structural repairs, welding, and painting techniques.
• Attention to Detail : Ability to produce high-quality finishes and ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications.
