We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team in the Healthcare Construction sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare project management, renovation, and expansion, with a focus on ground-up healthcare construction. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in managing and executing large-scale healthcare construction projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Project Manager in our Healthcare Construction division, you will:
1. Assist the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and controlling assigned aspects of a project; including monitoring project schedules and budgets, evaluating project productivity, and implementing necessary corrective actions.
2. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
3. Participate in the design and planning stages of healthcare construction projects, including renovations and expansions.
4. Oversee the procurement of necessary materials and equipment for projects, ensuring all items meet the necessary quality standards and specifications.
5. Facilitate communication between team members, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and any issues are promptly addressed.
6. Ensure all project operations adhere to regulations and standards, including safety and health laws.
7. Prepare and present project updates and progress reports to stakeholders and senior management.
8. Participate in the hiring and training of new project staff.
9. Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Assistant Project Manager role will possess the following:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare project management, with a focus on renovation, expansion, and ground-up healthcare construction.
3. Proven experience as an Assistant Project Manager (APM) or in a similar role.
4. In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
5. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards in the healthcare construction sector.
6. Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
8. Proficiency in project management software tools.
9. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Strong problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented mindset.
11. Certification in project management (PMP) or related field would be a plus.
