ASSISTANT GARDENER AT ARONIMINK GOLF CLUB Assistant Gardener starting in February 2025 . ABOUT ARONIMINK GOLF CLUB Aronimink Golf Club, founded in 1896, and located in Newtown Square, PA, is proud to offer Members the finest in dining and sporting activities, including a nationally ranked Donald Ross designed golf course.
The Club's facilities offer golf, trapshooting, a pool facility, a racquet facility, and several dining outlets. The Club has a Golf Performance Center, where its members can partake in golf lessons with access to the driving range.
Aronimink Golf Club is perennially recognized as one of the top golf courses in the country and the top Clubs in the world. Aronimink is currently ranked as the #8 Platinum Golf Club in America, the #28 Platinum Golf & Country Club in the World. Aronimink Golf Club is a certified Audubon International site and continues to enhance our landscapes through environmental stewardship. The Greens department, which oversees the course and landscaped areas, is housed in a state-of-the-art, facility.
The Club is in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, and is about thirty minutes from downtown Philadelphia.
In 2026, Aronimink will serve as the host venue for the 108th PGA Championship.

ARONIMINK GOLF CLUB WEBSITE: POSITION OVERVIEW The Assistant Gardener is integral to maintaining the stunning gardens that contribute to the beauty and prestige of our club. This role will work closely with the Garden Manager to ensure that the grounds are cared for with the highest level of attention and expertise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assist in the planting, watering, pruning, mulching, weeding, composting, and general upkeep of all garden areas that include herbaceous and woody plants.
- Assist with installing and maintaining seasonal garden containers and flower displays.
- Participate with integrated pest management by identifying and reporting signs of plant diseases or pests.
- Help maintain gardening tools and equipment to ensure they are kept in good working condition and stored properly.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Two years of professional experience in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture is required.
- Knowledge of plants and gardening techniques is essential.
- A passion for maintaining high standards of garden presentation, and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including operating a string trimmer and backpack blower, lifting 50 pounds, climbing a ladder, bending, pushing, reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
- Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well within a team environment and independently.
Working Conditions: This position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions. Exposure to biting insects and poison ivy can occur.
Essential Requirements: - Must be at least 18 years old.
- Bachelor's degree or professional horticulture certification is required.
- Ability to work early morning and some weekends during the peak season is required.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
