Clinical Social Worker, (Health/Correctional Facility)-Safety

$48.61 - $59.20 hourly rate

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking clinical social workers currently employed with the state of California who are interested in additional appointments to provide coverage in a part-time capacity, up to 40 hours per month. These uncommon positions are available to all clinical social workers currently employed by the State of California.  Due to the nature of these dual appointments, the only stipulation is that the additional appointment must be a distinctly different role than your primary job, and you cannot be a supervisor, manager, or executive. Onsite dual appointments at your primary institution may be available.

• Time worked is not considered overtime.
• Time worked will be outside your normal hours.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications (MQ) will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Candidates new to CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis (TB) testing prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.

• Other - License: Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science. [Individuals who do not qualify for licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Science may be admitted into the examination and may be appointed but must secure a valid license within four years of appointment; however, an individual can be employed only to the extent necessary to be eligible for licensure plus one year.  An extension of the waiver may be granted for one additional year based on extenuating circumstances, as provided by Section 1277(e) of the Health and Safety Code.
